THEATRE – Joe McTernan’s ‘Lost’

Must read

Scottish comedian Joe McTernan, known for his viral character-based comedy, enjoyed a successful debut at the Fringe last year with his show “Life Advice That Won’t Change Your Life”.  This year, Joe brings his high-energy performance to a bigger Underbelly venue with ‘Lost’, which tackles topics around him starting his life again after a relationship break up.  If the fodder for this show sounds a bit bleak, don’t be put off. Joe has the gags, one-liners and unique outlook on life to make ‘Lost’ utterly hilarious. From conquering his fears stemming from lifelong anxiety and generally ‘getting out there’ to feeling like a dweeb at the gym, Joe’s comedy is warm, relatable and funny.  A barrage of opening one-liners welcomes the crowd to the show, instantly warming them up for a performance packed with laughs and a few more emotional moments.  Joe knows how to work a crowd and cleverly riff on their responses.  Lost is every bit as brilliant as I’d hoped.
