The Pink Pilates Princess – My London Lifestyle

Must read

What is a Pink Pilates Princess? According to Urban Dictionary a pink Pilates princess is “a girl who spends her time working out, making green juices and smoothies and chugs green tea every night”. She loves pink, Pilates and being healthy.

The Pink Pilates Princess – My London Lifestyle

As a hyper feminine, stereotypical “girly girl” who goes to weekly Pilates classes, I must say this pretty much resonates with me.

It was quite a big thing on TikTok last summer, apparently. So I might be very late to the party, but I personally hate TikTok and I didn’t start Pilates until last autumn.

You may remember in January, I wrote this post where I shared all my details about my new fitness journey of starting Pilates, BodyPump and swimming in all these gorgeous London studios (If not, refresh your memory here).

This wasn’t just another failed attempt at making a New Years resolution to exercise more.

Because we are now in August and I’ve still been consistently at it. In fact I’ve also added Barre to the mix as a fourth workout.

And because I’ve been so consistent, I decided to reward myself with a brand new matching gym set.

So I thought I’ll share it with you, because it’s a little different…

See, normally, when it comes to gym-wear I always tend to go for black or other dark colours because I am a little self conscious of my body shape and I’m worried light colours make me look big and show every bump, flab and roll.

But since I’ve lost a bit of weight, am getting more toned and am feeling better than ever: I decided to step out of my comfort zone and opt for bright pink instead!

So far, I’ve been wearing it to all my workouts and have gotten loads of compliments everywhere I went.

Both are from Lululemon in the colour Vitapink. The leggings are from the Align range, which have consistently been rewarded as Lululemon’s best leggings (shop here).

The top is the Ebb Street tank top, which comes with a built in bra! Perfect for hiding unwanted rolls, but also you don’t need to go through the trouble of buying an extra bra to wear underneath.

Ideal, and it does give me the right support. However, I am aware I’m quite small-chested so I cannot speak for the more well endowed ladies out there.

But for me it keeps everything in place, even when I’m twisting myself up into a pretzel.

In terms of shoes, it doesn’t really matter what you wear. Most Pilates classes are performed barefoot or on grippy socks. So I usually just go for my comfiest trainers. I’ve even been known to wear a pair of muddy wellies on my way to class on rainy days, because I can’t stand the idea of wet feet. But in class itself, I usually change into these adorable socks from Ozaiic. Not only are they very high quality grippy socks, the crossover straps on the top make them look like ballet shoes. So adorable!

And of course there’s nothing better after a workout than rewarding yourself with a pink drink! Remember the blueberry matcha from Blank Street coffee? This drink is also amazing as an iced version!

Ideal for cooling off, enjoying some rays of sunshine before heading home, jumping in a refreshing shower and perhaps a little siesta under a lush tree in the park.

Because in the end: self care is what we Pink Pilates princesses are all about.
