I have been travelling a lot this year! Unexpectedly this has become the year of the road trips for me starting the year with a trip to Cyprus and a drive through the mountains, then a road trip through the Black Forest in Germany stopping off in France and Luxemburg to boot, then a trip to Novarock Festival in Vienna and most recently a road trip around the whole of Iceland that I finished just this work his week! That’s without mentioning the smaller UK-based trips we’ve done around Wales and England. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the opportunity to travel and I am surely not complaining! But it can be exhausting, I’m not great at giving myself time to relax or just sit and take it in. Every day I have off from work I feel like I must be doing something, heck I only have 2 days left free in the whole rest of September! It got me thinking, about where would be the best place I could go to switch off, enjoy some sun and actually allow myself to relax for once. After some research online I managed to find the perfect place, the barcelo.com/en-us/allegro-cozumel/ in Cozumel, Mexico.
This resort, set on the San Francisco beach, has it all! Stunning views, great food, comfortable rooms, and even the option of a scuba diving package for the adventures amongst us! Here are a few more reasons I think this is a great choice to relax in Mexico:
Starting with the rooms; they are light, airy and spacious and all come with free wifi. Then there are the pools, not one, not two but five swimming pools! Perfect for taking a dip to cool down in the luscious sunshine or even just to sit around and get lost in a good book, oh and don’t forget the whirlpool! If that sort of relaxation is for you there’s also a Spa on the property to really relax.
If you want a bit more adventure for your holiday there is a water park and sports area that includes a tennis pitch, beach and pool volleyball and the real speciality scuba diving! This is the only all-inclusive hotel on the island to offer all-inclusive scuba diving, they even offer underwater weddings! If you’re a newbie diving lessons in the pool are on offer to help you get better acquainted. There’s even kayaking, snorkelling, water polo and sailing if that isn’t enough! Of course, the excellent beachfront location means that you are never far away from the opportunity for a swim amongst the reefs or spotting a sea turtle.
For the foodies, there are five different restaurants to choose from, and as it’s all-inclusive you don’t need to worry about making difficult choices, it’s all yours to try! With everything from an international buffet for the casual days, an Italian restaurant, an East Asian offering including the ever-entertaining Tapanyaki grill and of course an impressive seeming Mexican offering, and this isn’t including the huge range of bars!
If you have young ones there is a kids club that’s sure to keep them entertained and a pirate themes waterpark that is a huge hit! The theatre is sure to be a great idea in the evenings to keep them engaged and have a family holiday to remember.
All in all, this is top of my list for the next time I need to find somewhere to relax in Mexico, I don’t think I could find anywhere better! Let me know your experiences with all-inclusive resorts down in the comments.
