Summer in the City – My London Lifestyle

On Sunday I met Dominika for a really long overdue catch up. Work’s been keeping us crazy busy and the last time we hung out was for Christmas lunch!

I know! The crazy lives us city girls lead.

Summer in the City – My London Lifestyle

Breakfast

Anyway, we started with a good breakfast at watch house in Seven Dials. I know we’ve tried out many different Watch Houses already (more here and here), but this one might just be my favourite.

Covent Garden is my least favourite because of the slow service. But Somerset House is really pretty too. There’s a few more in North London that opened up recently so I’ve added those to the list.

We arrived early and the plan was an al fresco breakfast, because the sun had come out for the first time in weeks.

Sadly we weren’t the only ones with that plan and all tables were already taken!

So we sat indoors instead.

It didn’t make the breakfast taste any worse.

I opted for the Veg House, which comes with poached eggs, mushroom and avocado on toast, grilled halloumi and tomatoes and homemade relish.

Dominika had the asparagus with poached eggs.

After breakfast we did manage to snatch one of the outdoor benches and a to go coffee.

So we could still soak up some rays of sunshine.

Shopping

Coffees in hand, we popped over to Bond Street for a spot of window shopping.

I just love that black dress, don’t you?

We wandered around Mayfair for a bit.

Where things started looking increasingly more floral.

Eventually we passed by the Durslade Farm Shop.

Durslade Farm is a farm in Somerset, where they grow fresh produce. Their produce goes straight from the farm to the shops in Somerset and Mayfair.

So you honestly can’t get it any fresher than here!

Different fruits and vegetables, fresh honey from the farm’s own bees, organic meat and dairy. You name it and you can find it here!

So much better than anything at your supermarket.

It reminds me a little of Daylesford’s farm shop.

They also have a wine bar downstairs which we have to check out sometimes!

But for now we stuck to an al fresco cup of coffee surrounded by the flowers and bees.

Who would expect that in the middle of Mayfair?

Ice Cream

After our Mayfair adventures, we went to Soho for ice cream, because it had gotten positively hot. I’m glad I packed my fan from Wimbledon, so I could use it to cool myself a bit if needed.

The best place to go for ice cream in London is without a doubt Gelupo, a gelato salon from the same people as the Italian restaurant Bocca Di Lupo across the road.

Their gelato comes in very unique and delicious flavours.

We both went with a scoop of Strawberry Sherbet and Alphonso Mango sorbet.

Perfectly refreshing flavours for hot summer days like these.

So we sat down and soaked up some more of that sunshine.

Because in London, you never know how long these days will last for!

But I’m honestly hoping for many more days like these!
