I recently visited Blank Street Coffee at 16 Norton Folgate, London, E1, to see why this chain is so popular. My niece was staying and keen to check it out, particularly the pistachio cookies and matcha drinks. Their appeal lies in a simple yet curated menu that satisfies both morning and afternoon cravings, combining quality with affordability. The signature fern green aesthetics and clean, modern interiors create a welcoming atmosphere, making it a relaxing place to hang out. If you’re looking for the best coffee shops in London or a cute cafe in Shoreditch, check out Blank Street.
“With a menu featuring matcha lattes, white chocolate, and pistachio treats, it’s easy to see why Blank Street Coffee has hit the mark with its customers,” Homegirl London.
Blank Street Coffee Menu
I shared half of the sweet pistachio cream cookie with my niece, who urged me to break it open to check if it had a gooey centre, which it did. It was yummy but a tad too sweet for me; I preferred their pistachio-topped pain au chocolat. It’s a delightful twist on a traditional croissant filled with pistachio custard.
For those who prefer classic pastries, Blank Street offers a buttery, flaky, plain croissant and an almond croissant filled with almond custard and topped with almond shavings. The vegan cinnamon bun is a sourdough hand-rolled cinnamon-spiced delight. For super cuteness, try the mini raspberry bite, a small but flavourful treat which looks adorable. I popped that in my mouth on my second visit!
Their breakfast menu includes a breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, spinach, roasted peppers, shredded hash browns, and black beans in a tortilla. Or a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an organic brioche bun. For a lighter option, try the egg and cheese with spinach on a brioche bun, with your choice of sauce or salsa verde.
Matcha enthusiasts will appreciate the variety, from the ceremonial-grade matcha latte steamed with your choice of milk. I sampled the blueberry matcha with a hint of blueberry taste; it was different, but I preferred my latte on a previous visit; maybe I’m just old-fashioned! Although Blank Street offers a full spectrum of coffee options, from classic Americanos and cappuccinos to flat whites and cortados, I can see that their target market, like my niece, probably love the specialities like the pistachio latte and seasonal options.
